From story-driven adventures to puzzle-solving capers, there’s a huge range of experiences to try, so here we’ve curated a shortlist of the very best co-op games for PC gamers.
portal 2
We can’t believe it’s been that long since Portal 2, but the game remains untouchable as one of the best and most imaginative cooperative titles ever created. Playing as two robots running through deranged Aperture Science experiments with your own portal guns, you must work together to make it out of a long series of puzzle rooms. It’s hilarious and innovative and we wish there were more sequels to dive into!
Divinity: original sin 2
Original Sin 2 is an RPG that lets you party and face a huge, sprawling story that crosses continents and has some great twists. They can really tear things up and wreak havoc on the battlefield and in your quest lines. It’s so much fun and encourages proper teamwork while also rewarding inventiveness and cheekiness.

This delightful farming game lets you slow down, build a farm and, over time, get to know a small hamlet and its inhabitants – it’s insanely relaxing. Being able to play it together means you can build a real sense of shared responsibility with the other player too.

Left 4 Dead 2 is another game that shows Valve’s titles age amazingly. It’s still a hit if you want short cooperative levels to blast your way through. Its vision of a zombie menace is detailed but full of character, and the simplicity of its gameplay is one of the reasons it remains satisfying even after hundreds of hours of use.
Overcooked! As much as you can eat
The definitive Overcooked experience, this pack features a massive variety of levels as you work through groups, desperately trying to fill a long line of orders as the world conspires against you with shifting levels, dangerous pits, hurricanes and more Has. It’s so much fun and so hectic you’ll keep coming back for more.
It takes two
It Takes Two is a touching tale of parenting and relationships from the same developers who made another excellent co-op game, A Way Out, and it’s even more imaginative and rewarding to work through with a friend or family member. There are so many game genres covered by its various sequences that you will probably be amazed.
