Source: A free Iron Man VR demo is out now on PS VR
Sony has released an extended free demo for the upcoming Iron Man VR game, a PlayStation VR exclusive that will be released later this summer.
Sony announced the demo on the PlayStation Blog along with two new PS VR bundles for the game, which was originally scheduled for release in May but was pushed back to July 3rd.
The demo is “a small part of the main game” according to the blog post, but it actually sounds like there’s a lot to try out:
- Malibu tutorial mission.
- Stark Jet Interactive Movie starring Tony, Friday & Pepper Potts
- “Out of the Blue” Stark Jet gameplay mission
- Flight Challenge optional mission
- Optional mission Advanced Combat Challenge
Anyone who plays the demo will unlock an exclusive Molten Lava armor decoration that can also be used in the full game.
You can pre-order Iron Man VR now, although both a PlayStation VR headset and two PlayStation Move controllers are required. Move controllers are currently selling out everywhere, but thankfully the new bundles should help if you don’t have all the kits.
There’s a £84.99 bundle in the UK that combines the game with two Move controllers. That means you’ll still need a PS VR headset and PlayStation Camera to set yourself up. The £259 PS VR Starter Pack is probably your best bet, especially as it’ll drop to just £200 as part of the Days of Play offer from May 25th to June 8th.
If you’re in the US, the $349.99 set is a bit more comprehensive. This includes the VR headset, PS camera, two PS Move controllers, Iron Man VR, and the VR demo disc that usually comes with the headset. If you only need Move controllers and don’t want to buy the full VR kit again, your best bet is to go second hand on eBay or similar.
Both bundles will be released with the game on July 3rd, but pre-orders are open now.
