The seven Bosch seasons follow the titular character’s time with the LAPD, but anyone who’s seen it knows how it ends. The story continues in Bosch Legacy – and here’s everything you need to know about it.
Bosch Legacy Season 1 Release Date: When Can You See It?
Bosch Legacy is one of the headlines for the newly rebranded Freevee.
Bosch Legacy Season 1 will be available to stream on the platform from May 6, 2022.
For regions that don’t have access to Freevee it’s not clear what the launch plans are, it’s likely you’ll have to wait for the service to launch in your region to see Bosch Legacy, or it could be on Amazon Video.
How and where to watch Bosch Legacy Season 1
Freevee, formerly known as IMDb TV, rebranded in April 2022 and Bosch is one of the shows being used to raise the brand’s profile. The official change came on April 27, 2022, when IMDb TV changed its branding, including on devices like the Fire TV Stick, where it’s a standalone app available in the US and UK.
Bosch was previously available on Amazon Video. IMDb TV was originally slated for a wider rollout, but that was delayed, so the best information we have is that Freevee will be rolling out to more countries internationally later in 2022 – with Germany being highlighted and likely to be the first new territory . However, it has been confirmed that Bosch Legacy will be available on Amazon Video in Canada, so we suspect there will be some international differences.
For those without a Fire TV device, you can find Freevee in the Amazon Video app – one of the lines in the suggested shows will be labeled “Free with Ads.”

How many episodes will Bosch Legacy Season 1 contain?
It looks like Bosch Legacy Season 1 will be released weekly on Fridays, the first episode on May 6th, the second on May 13th. Episode count hasn’t been confirmed, but looks like it could be a 10-episode episode based on the IMDb listing for the season.
Previously, Bosch had 10 episodes per season, except for season 7 which ended with 8.

There’s a direct connection from Bosch to Bosch Legacy, so it’s no surprise that Titus Welliver is back as Harry Bosch, Mimi Rogers as Honey Chandler, and Madison Lintz as Maddie Bosch.
The supporting cast list highlights Maurice Bassi in a significant role and Denise G. Sanchez.
It looks like many of the well-known characters are out of the picture now, which makes sense given Bosch left the LAPD — meaning no Jamie Hector (Jerry Edgar), no Lance Reddick (Irvin Irving) or any of those other familiar faces.
What happens in Bosch Legacy Season 1?
Season 7 of Bosch ends with Harry leaving the LAPD, something he always seemed close to doing since Season 1 opened. Anyone who has read the Michael Connelly books knows that Bosch is leaving the LAPD, so there are some parallels to the character path from the original books.
As fans will know, the Bosch seasons draw on several previous books that tie together crimes from different novels.
In Bosch Legacy, Harry Bosch goes to work as an investigator, but as the trailer reveals, Honey Chandler calls in Bosch’s services for an investigation. Since the legal ways – courts, judiciary – do not put the villain behind bars, Bosch wants to do it his own way.
Perhaps the biggest revelation from the trailers is that Maddie Bosch is now in the LAPD, continuing her story alongside her father’s — and there’s sure to be plenty of interaction.
Will there be a Bosch Legacy Season 2?
Yes, it has been confirmed that Bosch Legacy Season 2 has been commissioned, it was announced on May 2nd, 2022 – the week that Season 1 is scheduled to premiere.
