Source: Apple might release its first ‘full-screen iPhone’ in 2024
(Pocket-lint) – Apple is reportedly aiming to release a full-screen iPhone in two years’ time. That says a well-known Apple analyst.
Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a solid track record of predicting Apple’s upcoming product roadmap, tweeted that an iPhone with an uninterrupted display — aka “full screen” — will launch in 2024 .
Full-screen mode might be limited to high-end iPhone 16 models, he noted. That means the iPhone 16 Pro and Max could house the front camera and Face ID under the display (the Standard or Mini models probably won’t).

Kuo also described a development hurdle Apple faces: “Lack of light affects the quality of the front camera, and ISP (Image Signal Processor) and algorithm are crucial for quality improvements.”
Previously, Kuo claimed that this year’s iPhone 14 will have an improved front camera with autofocus capabilities and a larger aperture, and the phone will hide Apple’s Face ID tech in a pill-shaped cutout.
The company doesn’t seem ready to move to under-screen Face ID just yet, and if Kuo’s recent claims are true, we might have to wait a few more generations of iPhones before we see this sort of innovation.
