introduction

While not the dominant manufacturer, Motorola has never been afraid to innovate and push the envelope. The company even plans to release a foldable phone that will revitalize the RAZR series, but that doesn’t mean it’s overlooking its mid-range lineup. Wanting to keep up with current trends and offer a rare set of features at the asking price, the company delivered the Motorola One Vision.

The One Vision brings many new features to the Motorola range. The 21:9 aspect ratio, the pinhole camera for selfies and a chipset made by Samsung – the Exynos 9609 – are all new to Moto phones. And all of this in an elegant package without straying too far from the typical Motorola design. It’s easy to tell from a distance that this is a Motorola-made handset, and that’s certainly not a bad thing.

Similar to the recently released Sony Xperia smartphones, Motorola places the emphasis on the large 21:9 screen, which we found particularly useful for scrolling through social media feeds and multitasking. Oh, and of course when watching 21:9 content on Netflix and YouTube.

The 48-megapixel main camera on the back is another big selling point of the One Vision. Of course, the sensor uses a Quad Bayer filter, which combines four pixels into one and outputs a 12-megapixel image, but with native HDR and improved low-light performance.

Here is the Motorola One Vision cheat sheet:

Unpacking the Motorola One Vision

The smartphone comes in a standard box, which at first glance is rather small, but contains pretty much everything you would expect and more.

As well as the handset itself, the charging brick and USB-A to USB-C cable and the usual instruction manuals, the box also includes a transparent silicone protective case and a pair of Motorola earbuds. However, we were told that the buds will only be available in Brazil.
