introduction

Ah, the Realme 5 Pro. It’s been what – five years? Three? It was actually only a year ago and yet Realme is launching its fifth generation of smartphones. The manufacturer has tried to meet every possible need of users, and quite successfully. So, after the Realme X that gave us an immersive AMOLED experience, let’s meet the camera-centric Realme 5 Pro.

It may have been a little over a year, but we’re glad Realme found its MO – catchy designs, snappy performance, and decent camera skills. And it’s been delivering them at incredibly low prices ever since. The Realme 5 Pro doesn’t lose focus on the essentials either – there’s the signature dazzling looks, top-end Snapdragon 712 chip, and the company’s first quad-camera setup.

Indeed, Realme has jumped from dual straight to quad camera arrangements. And the Realme 5 Pro setup is pretty impressive with a 48-megapixel primary, 8-megapixel ultrawide, 2-megapixel macro, and 2-megapixel portrait snapper. Advanced 2x digital zoom is available thanks to the high-resolution primary mode, as well as Nightscape and Chroma Boost modes.

Another thing that the Realme 5 Pro impresses with is the large battery and the presence of 20W VOOC charging via the USB-C port.

Last but not least, the Realme 5 Pro is the company’s first spill-resistant phone.

Realme 5 Pro is not a significant update over Realme 3 Pro in terms of screen and performance. In fact – they stay the same. But the camera seems light years ahead and can also make people who bought the Realme 3 jump to 5 in no time. How will it go on? Let’s find out!

Unboxing the Realme 5 Pro

The Realme 5 Pro comes packaged in a fairly bulky paper box, but it’s packed with goodies. The manufacturer ships the phone with the 20W VOOC charger and proprietary USB-C cable required for VOOC to function properly.

The package also includes a semi-transparent gray silicone case that will help keep the beauty of the Realme 5 Pro untouched for quite a while.
