Source: Motorola Moto G7 Play review
introduction
The Moto G7 Play is the most basic smartphone of the G7 quartet that was recently launched in Brazil. But while the price suggests a budget experience with many compromises, we actually found it quite capable and interesting. And here’s why.
The Moto G7 Play has a very sturdy plastic body, but unlike the G7 Power, it has a textured and matte back, meaning smudges and scratches are very unlikely. Just like the other G7 phones, the Play has a large and notched screen and runs on the Snapdragon 632 chipset that the Vanilla and Power models have.
The camera department also seems fairly adequate. The G7 Play has a 13-megapixel snapper on its rear with portrait mode and 4K video capture, while the 8-megapixel selfie camera is the same as the G7 and G7 Power.
The Moto G7 Play also runs vanilla Android Pie and comes with all of the Moto software tricks available across the G7 lineup.

- Battery: 3,000 mAh Li-Ion (sealed); 5W or 10W charging.

The Moto G7 Play cannot convince with battery capacity or fast charging. It’s only available with 32GB of storage, but like the other models, there’s a dedicated microSD slot. The only issue might be the 2GB of RAM – that might work for Apple, but we’re not sure it would be enough for a modern Android smartphone.
Unpack Moto G7 Play
The retail packaging of the Moto G7 Play looks just as snazzy as the rest of the G7 series, but its contents are as basic as the price tag would suggest. The G7 Play comes with a 5W sluggish charger and a USB-C cable. That’s it.
The Moto G7 Play supports 10W charging and comes with a suitable 10W charger in some markets, such as the US. Your local Motorola website should be able to give you information on what to include in the retail box by region.
In our case, unlike the other G7 bundles we got, the G7 Play didn’t come with a protective case.
